ILF appointed as Lender's Engineer for Magtaa SWRO Project, Algeria

Bank National d'Algerie (BNA) has appointed ILF Consulting Engineers as their Independent Engineer for the implementation of the world largest seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant Magtaa with a desalination capacity of 500,000 m³/day (110 MIGD). Phase one of the project will comprise a technical and commercial due diligence exercise and in phase two ILF will monitor the progress on site during the entire period of the project.
The project company called "Tahlyat Myah Magtaa SPA", comprising Hyflux of Singapore and Algerian Energy Company (AEC) of Algeria, has been awarded a contract to build, commission and operate the plant for a period of 30 years. The project will be commissioned in April 2011.
