Electric transmission and distribution systems
Energy is a valuable asset.
Sustainable utilisation of this resource is based on efficient and environmentally friendly energy generation in modern power plants on the one hand, and on the safe and low-loss transmission of electricity and heat from the power plant to the consumer by highly efficient transport and distribution systems on the other.
For the entire range of energy transport, ILF is able provide optimised and state-of-the-art solutions - this applies both to the transmission of electric power via the energy suppliers' overhead power lines and to industrial supply systems which frequently place great demands on the system design on account of special load characteristics.
As regards the connection of high-capacity energy generation facilities across long distances, progressive technologies are implemented that avoid the problematic mains connections which frequently cannot be realised using standard cable connections.
ILF is a pioneer in the application of a new generation of long-distance electricity transmission systems, which for offshore wind farms comprise gas-insulated transmission lines in submarine piping systems and safely permit high voltage levels.
- Overhead power lines at all voltage levels
- Underground cables at all voltage levels
- Gas-insulated transmission lines (GIL)
- Transformer stations and switching stations at all voltage levels
- Communications and network management systems
- Network design and network studies
- Distribution systems in industrial plants
