Extension of the world's largest RO-Wastewater Treatment Plant in Sulaibiya

The first construction stage of the worlds largest reverse osmosis (RO) wastewater treatment plant with a daily capacity of 375,000 m³ started operation in 2004. Owing to increasing volumes of wastewater flow in Kuwait, it is intended to increase the operating capacity of the current facility up to 600,000 m³/d allowing for a final capacity of 700,000 m³/d when completed.

Since ILF was responsible for the design of the first construction stage of the project, the contract for the overall planning of the second construction stage was also assigned to ILF.
