Start of the next construction phase in Korça, Albania

Since 1998, ILF has been working on behalf of the Water Supply und Sewerage Enterprise of Korça to improve the existing water supply and sewerage infrastructure of Korça, a city with a population of 85.000 located in Eastern Albania, near the Greek border.

The project is being realized in several phases, whereby the water supply system has been revamped and extended from 1998 till 2004. For three years, ILF has also been entrusted with the design, tender procedure and supervision for the implementation of a sewerage network and a wastewater treatment plant.

In June 2008, the contract for the next project phase, containing the construction of further 30 km sewer network and a pond treatment plant, was signed in presence of high-ranking members of the government in Tirana.
