Further Design Works for the Koralm Railway Line
In the summer of 2012, ILF Consulting Engineers (together with partners) was commissioned by ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) to provide the tender and construction design for the approx. 9.5 km long railway section between Aich and Mittlern as well as to produce the tender documents for the approx. 4 km long section between Mittlern and Althofen, contract section 60.3 St. Kanzian incl. tunnel structures and bridges.
Both sections are part of the Koralm Railway Line, a twin-track, electrified high-capacity railway line with a total length of approx. 130 km and a design speed of 200 km/h. Providing a direct connection between Graz and Klagenfurt, the Koralm Railway Line forms part of the European Pontebbana corridor from Brno - Vienna - Graz - Klagenfurt - Tarvisio to Venice. The railway line is meant to be operational in its entirety by 2023. ILF Consulting Engineers has been working on various sections and design phases of the project since 1998.
