Sitina Tunnel opened for traffic

The Sitina Tunnel was officially opened at a ceremony attended by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, Speaker of Parliament Pavol Paska and numerous high-ranking representatives from politics and commerce on June 23, 2007, after four years construction time. The new tunnel intended to speed up transit through Bratislava is part of the D2 motorway and it is a substantial contribution to east-west transit.

Terraprojekt, Bratislava was responsible for the detailed design, the preparation of operating manuals and the built documentation of the 1.44 km long tunnel.
