Wastewater Masterplan for the city of Tehran, Iran
Since the Greater Tehran area (approx. 10.5 million inhabitants) has neither a functioning sewerage network nor sewage treatment plants of adequate capacity, the city authorities proposed the implementation of the "Tehran Sewerage Project" in the 1990s, in order to improve environmental conditions and public health. The main objectives of this road map were to build several central Wastewater Treatment Plants as well as an overall sewerage system for the Greater Tehran area.
ILF Consulting Engineer is responsible for the design and construction supervision for the Tehran Wastewater Treatment Plant (please refer to our reference) and has now been awarded the update of the Tehran Sewerage Masterplan with a total length of approx 9,000 km of sewerage network. The main aim of the update of the Master Plan is to provide a sound basis for the next phases of the project and thus to ensure an optimal development of the project based on ILF effective expert knowledge.
