Time frame |
| 1999 - 2002 |
The purpose of this project was the provision of gas supply from Central Oman to Sohar to the north coast and Salalah at the south coast. The 32" Sohar pipeline section has a length of 300 km in total, while the Salalah section, of 24" to 28" in diameter, covers a distance of 700 km. Both sections are crossing challenging topography: mountains and wadis, the latter requiring sophisticated engineering to provide for adequate design and implementation of steep slope sections.
As a matter of particular interest, the pipeline system involved design for sour gas transport. ILF's role as engineering consultant to owner, covered project management, evaluation of EPC tenders, EPC Contract Management, design vetting, procurement vetting, quality assurance, HSE- and construction management.
