Revamp of AC Offsites at Schwechat Refinery

The OMV AG selected ILF for the engineering of a revamp of the existing AC plant in Schwechat, Austria. For the revamp ILF provided review of basic engineering, authority engineering, tender documents preparation and tendering procedure, construction supervision, commissioning and as built documentation.

The goal was to implement a new metering system, pump and pipe work for the ethylene and propylene delivery to Borealis. In addition ILF offered an option for a off-gas pipeline from Borealis to the power and heat supply station #1. The project included the revamping of the ethylene metering system, increase of pipe capacity at propylene tank farm, increase of boiler feed water supply for the cracker, realization of new street near the AC plant, increase of ultimate load of existing sleeper bridges. The engineering services were successfully rendered within a tight time frame which had the planned delivery of ethylene and propylene to Borealis on the critical path.
