Crude oil from the Sangachal Terminal in Baku, Azerbaijan is transported via a 1.750 km long pipeline to the Ceyhan terminal in Turkey, located at the Mediterranean Sea. The Terminal at Ceyhan with tank farm (7 x 150,000 m³) included a 2,5 km offshore jetty for 2 x 300,000 DWT Tankers at Iskenderun Bay. Services on the pipeline system included:

  • Basic Design
  • Detailed Design for all pipeline, pump stations and marine terminal in Ceyhan including vapour gathering and incineration
  • Detailed Engineering of SCADA and Telecommunication System
  • Preparation of tender documents for construction works and equipment supply
  • Full procurement and contracting services up to contract signature
  • Incorporation of Vendor Design into Detail Design for free issued materials
  • Engineering follow up during construction and commissioning

The jetty was equipped with state-of-the-art spill save loading arms and VRU system connected to a vapour incineration facility. Due to the significance of Iskenderun Bay's ecological value for several marine species, among which appear sea turtles, environmental engineering was a constant aspect of ILF's service performance.
