Komperdell / Serfaus Snow-Making System 2007

Elaboration of general concept with preliminary design and permit application design for a large-scale expansion of the Komperdell snow-making system in Serfaus (total water capacity: 1,150 m³/h, electrical power: 4,700 kW, air, water and power lines: 7,300 m).

In 2004 the Seilbahn Komperdell GesmbH commissioned ILF to prepare the preliminary design and subsequently the permit application design for the expansion of the Komperdell / Serfaus snow-making system in a westerly direction to the Masner area. A snow-making reservoir with a volume of about 180,000 m³ and a valve station will be constructed there in 2007 and 2008. The necessary Masner pumping station is to be placed below the Masner Hut. This measure is meant to significantly improve the quality of the ski pistes around the Masner Hut. A new pressure relief station is to be constructed at the upper terminal of the Scheidbahn, a 6-person chairlift, to be able to use the water from the new snow-making reservoir also for the rest of the pipe system of the very large snow-making facility down to the village of Serfaus.
