Complete design and consulting services for all design phases, as well as construction supervision of two-lane bypass road with several grade-separated interchanges.

The SS12 Branzoll - Bozen expressway shall bring traffic relief to the communities of Branzoll and Leifers as well as to the St. Jakob district of the city of Bozen. The communities affected by this traffic congestion will be by-passed or underpassed with tunnels. In order to obtain as big a relief on traffic as possible, the junctions where the bypass meets the existing national road or where the bypass connects to the industrial and commercial areas are of particular importance. Three full junctions will be constructed; the Pfarrhof junction will be entirely underground. In order to have grade-separated junctions, several bridges and underpasses will be necessary. ILF won the European design competition for this project especially because of the proposed these junctions. The works on the construction lots 2+2a already started in 2000; these sections went into operation in 2005. The construction lot 1 will be finalised in 2011.

The project encompasses a bypass road with a length of approx. 9 km, 6 junctions, underground turnout caverns, 3 tunnels: 5 km mined tunnels, 1 km cut-and-cover tunnels, several bridges (Lmax.= 220 m), various open-cut structures and slope stabilisation measures, as well as new design of the Steinmannwald and Branzoll local roads.
