Alpine engineering - integrative and sustainable development of mountain resorts (summer and winter)
It all starts with a vision for a new tourist area or resort. For this vision to take shape, the first step is to prepare a master plan – an integrative tourism development concept that takes into account the technical, economic and socio-ecological aspects of the project. After a more detailed permit application design and after a positive investment decision has been made, the tourist resort will be developed, designed and implemented in several stages and from an overall tourism perspective. ILF accompanies the client from the production of the tender documents to procurement, through to implementation and commissioning of all structures and their subsequent operation.
Together with the engineering office Dr. Wechsler, ILF Consulting Engineers can look back on more than 30 years of experience in winter tourism. This extensive experience that was mainly gained in the premium destinations of the Alps is now being put to use when implementing new projects.
ILF is able to offer the complete range of services required for all project phases in a one-stop shop. In essence, three interlinked areas are addressed:
- Development of land-use planning including hotels, apartment buildings, shopping streets, restaurants, golf courses, parks, etc.
- Development of mountain infrastructure comprising ropeways, lifts, ski slopes, snowmaking systems with storage reservoirs, mountain restaurants, observation decks, heliports, cycle paths and hiking trails, cross country ski trails and various other summer and winter attractions
- Development of basic infrastructure encompassing transport and traffic development, energy supply, water and wastewater treatment and disposal, waste disposal, roads, railway lines, etc.
