Design contract for TEN corridor VIII in Macedonia


At the end of April 2012, the “Public Enterprise Macedonian Railway Infrastructure” commissioned ILF in association with partners to perform design services for the Kumanovo – Beljakovce section of the Trans-European Rail network VIII. The existing 30.8-km-long single-track railway line had already been in operation between 1956 and 1996. The current rehabilitation of this section comprises substructure, superstructure, drainage facilities, structures, buildings, roads and relocation of roads, impact mitigation measures as well as the entire railway line equipment including provisions for the future electrification.

The design contract includes, amongst others, preparing detailed and tender design, preparing and assisting the contract award procedure for the construction measures as well as supporting the owner in obtaining the necessary permits, preparing geological and geotechnical studies and planning the necessary surveying services. The project is funded by the EBRD.
