Rehabilitation of the ventilation system of the Karawanken tunnel
ILF was assigned by ASFINAG with the detailed design for the rehabilitation of the approx. 8-km-long Karawanken tunnel on the A11 motorway between Austria and Slovenia. The scope of services includes the ventilation system, the respective energy supply system, the control system for the ventilation as well as the necessary structural changes. The preparation of the rehabilitation concept for the existing tunnel during ongoing traffic poses a particular challenge. The ventilation system will be completely replaced to fulfil the latest requirements of the RVS 09.02.31 (Austrian Road Construction Regulations).
