Bio­mass is a rene­wa­ble source of fuel, which con­tains stored ener­gy from the sun, is car­bon neu­tral and ori­gi­na­tes from orga­nic was­te such as plants and ani­mals. The ener­gy con­tai­ned in bio­mass can be made use of by direct inci­nera­ti­on, co-inci­nera­ti­on, pyro­ly­sis, gasi­fi­ca­ti­on, and anae­ro­bic digestion.

ILF has been invol­ved in a seri­es of bio­mass pro­jects focu­sing on direct inci­nera­ti­on and co-inci­nera­ti­on to gene­ra­te electri­ci­ty and heat for district hea­ting sche­mes. Taking advan­ta­ge of the expe­ri­ence gai­ned with bio­mass and muni­ci­pal solid was­te (MSW) tre­at­ment, ILF has tur­ned its atten­ti­on to more advan­ced and effi­ci­ent tech­no­lo­gies, which allow bio­fu­els to be extrac­ted and offer a wider ran­ge of applications.

Over the last deca­de ILF has accu­mu­la­ted exten­si­ve know-how and many refe­ren­ces to offer inte­gra­ted, inter­di­sci­pli­na­ry, one-stop ser­vices for all pro­ject deve­lo­p­ment, pro­ject imple­men­ta­ti­on and pro­ject manage­ment pha­ses. ILF ren­ders engi­nee­ring and con­sul­ting ser­vices to public and pri­va­te uti­li­ty pro­vi­ders, pri­va­te pro­ject deve­lo­pers and renow­ned con­struc­tion companies.
