Tunnel Equipment

With an increasing number of road users, more stringent safety standards are becoming a necessity for road tunnels. In addition to meeting these safety standards, factors such as operational requirements, economic efficiency, energy efficiency and state-of-the-art technology also need considering when planning and designing tunnel equipment. This applies for both road tunnels and railway tunnels.

For more than five decades, ILF has been involved in the interdisciplinary planning and design of tunnels and tunnel equipment. ILF has designed the equipment for a large number of complex tunnel systems at home and abroad and has played a leading role in more than 250 tunnel projects in over 50 countries around the world.

Tunnel equipment includes:

  • Medium-voltage systems
  • Transformers
  • Low-voltage systems
  • Emergency power supply systems
  • Grounding and lightning protection systems
