ILF has a long tradition of managing projects. This is one of the reasons why ILF has its own Project Management department, which offers a wide range of services both within the company and on the market, thus contributing this accumulated knowledge and experience to the successful implementation of projects.
Our work in the Project Management department can roughly be divided into three fields of activity. Firstly, we offer “Project Management” services, which involves managing large-scale interdisciplinary ILF projects in a wide variety of fields, such as hydropower plants, mountain resorts, wastewater treatment plants and urban ropeways.
Secondly, we act as the Client’s Representative in large-scale projects, taking over any tasks which clients delegate to others – the goal here is to represent clients in the best possible way with our expertise and support them in their projects.
Thirdly, we engage in “Design Management”, with a focus on project coordination and delivering Owner’s Engineering services – in other words the technical management and coordination of large planning and design teams in infrastructure projects – and architectural building design.
Our work under long-term contracts in the health and education sectors has enabled us to successfully position ourselves amongst the biggest public clients in Austria and thus to continuously improve the country’s infrastructure.
Of course, cost and schedule planning are also part of our daily work, as well as the corresponding control and coordination of respective processes. However, the decisive contribution that we make to the success of projects comes from our comprehensive view of the entire project environment. Only by having such a view can we identify potential risks at an early stage in projects, react in time and minimize such risks before they develop into real problems.
This broad perspective allows us to make targeted decisions and competently advise our clients. Project objectives are always the focus of our actions, and we want to meet these as efficiently as possible and always within the given framework. As different as our projects are, at the end of the day, one guiding principle is always at the forefront of our work: we care, we do not give up and we move our projects forward.
Our department (with approximately 40 employees) is spread across two office locations – in Rum near Innsbruck and in Vienna – and is made up of Project Managers and Technical Experts from various disciplines, all of whom are supported by Team Assistants and Students. A good mix of young and experienced colleagues work on a variety of projects in Austria and abroad. Collegiality and working together as a team is always at the forefront of the way we work, and we place particular emphasis on mutually supporting one another.
