Bioenergy

Biomass is a renewable source of fuel, which contains stored energy from the sun, is carbon neutral and originates from organic waste such as plants and animals. The energy contained in biomass can be made use of by direct incineration, co-incineration, pyrolysis, gasification, and anaerobic digestion.

ILF has been involved in a series of biomass projects focusing on direct incineration and co-incineration to generate electricity and heat for district heating schemes. Taking advantage of the experience gained with biomass and municipal solid waste (MSW) treatment, ILF has turned its attention to more advanced and efficient technologies, which allow biofuels to be extracted and offer a wider range of applications.

Over the last decade ILF has accumulated extensive know-how and many references to offer integrated, interdisciplinary, one-stop services for all project development, project implementation and project management phases. ILF renders engineering and consulting services to public and private utility providers, private project developers and renowned construction companies.
