EMBRACING DIVERSITY
Since the company’s beginnings 55 years ago, ILF has implemented projects both in Germany and abroad. Our commitment to working internationally is also reflected in the fact that the ILF Group has 45+ offices, located all over the world. However, we believe that it is our workforce who really make us an international company. We are incredibly proud of the fact that we at ILF Germany unite over 300 employees, over 30 nationalities and a colourful array of cultures, religions and beliefs.
We have department managers who work part-time, male (not just female) receptionists, and an age range spanning more than 70 years in our workforce.
Knowing that this diversity is something to celebrate, we have signed the German Charta der Vielfalt (German Charter of Diversity in Companies and Institutions) and continue to do what we can to embrace the diversity we have within ILF…
ILF’s sustainability strategy also places the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the heart of our business activities, and the solutions we deliver for our projects are aligned with the United Nations SDGs (see image to the right).
In addition, our Sustainability Task Force is continuously working to identify and integrate measures into our work that will make us fit for the future and more sustainable.

Sometimes it’s just the little things that make everyday life a little easier. In the office, there is yoghurt and fruit available in the morning and ice cream after lunch in Summer. There are lots of events for employees (after only having worked in the company for 2 days, I went on a skiing weekend with my new colleagues) and for our young engineers there is the Club of Young Engineers, which I have been a committee member of for a few months now. The club organises monthly events that bring our young employees together. Some of the events so far have included rafting, hiking and a get-together with club members from other countries in Hamburg.”

When a global player and a family become one
Our offices are located in a number of attractive cities across Germany, each with its own unique character and charm. The head office in Munich is our largest office location, characterised by many years of growth, a wealth of company history and great potential for exciting insights into all business areas. The other office locations are still relatively young – in every sense of the word! Bremen has grown to be an attractive medium-sized office in recent years, offering a wide range of opportunities for collaboration under one roof. The offices in Hamburg and Essen have smaller teams, a flexible structure and are developing dynamically. Our smallest and newest office is in Berlin. Nevertheless, this office already has its very own unique identity thanks to its proximity to clients and partners. Our office in Fontainebleau, near Paris, mainly serves our French-speaking projects, and our office in Madrid is fully committed to sustainability and supporting wind energy initiatives.
