ILF wins contract for a combined heat and power plant (CHP) in Zabrze
moreILF Consulting Engineers was commissioned by the Finish investor Fortum Power and Heat Polska for providing complex engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the construction of the Zabrze CHP.
In the new thermal power plant, a CFB boiler with 225 MWth fuel input and a maximum thermal power of 140 MWth (in the winter) will be installed together with a backpressure steam turbine with an electric power of 75 MWel. The total investment will amount to approx. EUR 217.5 million and the CHP plant will supply heat to 70,000 households in nearby cities. The scope of services includes the preparation of basic design, building permit design and detailed design, specification of procurement packages and management of all project-related contracts, construction and start-up management.
