Process Safety/ Loss Prevention Engineer - Offshore
Job description
- Supervise/prepare HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, FRA, SIL, Bow tie analysis, PHSER, EIA etc. Scope of Works
- Prepare/Review Inquiry Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations of third party project safety reviews and ensure procurement according to project specifications and within budgeted cost.
- Organize and participate in project safety reviews i.e. HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, HFE review SIL, Bow tie analysis, PHSER etc.
- Review of HSE reports such as HAZID, HAZOP, FRA, QRA, CFD Blast analysis, Smoke & Gas dispersion studies, Fire & Gas Mapping Studies etc.
- Organize and lead internal project safety reviews i.e. HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, SIL, etc.
- Prepare/Review HSE Designs Philosophies, Fire and Gas Philosophy, HAZOP & HAZID reports, FRA, Consequence Analysis Reports, Fire and Explosion Reports, Risk assessment Reports, Emergency Evacuation analysis, Flare radiation analysis, noise studies and other risk assessment reports
- Prepare/Supervise Loss Prevention deliverables such as PFD’s, P&IDs, Fire Fighting and safety Equipment Datasheets, Specifications,
- Prepare/Supervise Loss Prevention deliverables such as Hydrant & Monitor location layout, Fire Fighting and Safety Equipment Layout, Escape Route and Safety Signs Layout, Passive Fire Protection Layout, Fire & Gas Cause & Effect Matrix, Passive Fire Protection Schedule
- Prepare/Supervise gaseous firefighting systems.
- Prepare/Supervise sizing of water spray, Fire water Hydrant and sprinkler & foam systems
- Prepare/Supervise Hazardous Area Classification Schedule, Hazardous Area Classification Drawings.
- Review Cause and Effect Diagram, shutdown and blow down philosophies,
- Carry out site visits to client facilities as required.
- Undertake studies or other assigned tasks related to safety management or loss prevention/fire prevention engineering.
Qualification
Competency Requirements:
- Conversant with relevant International codes and standards (e.g. NFPA) and appropriate HSE & legislative requirements.
- Possess an understanding of internally recognised engineering and life safety/ fire codes, standards and practises.
- Conversant with ADNOC Code of Practice and ADMA – OPCO HSE Procedures and Engineering Guidelines,
- Good oral and written communications skills and strong team working ethic, enthusiastic and positive with ability to coach and mentor discipline engineers.
Technical Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in safety and loss prevention in an engineering consultancy with experience of working, predominantly on Offshore Oil & Gas and pipeline projects.
- Using common tools (PC programs) for consequence analysis including jet fire, pool fire, toxic dispersion, flammable dispersion, and explosive overpressure.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. In addition, a Master Degree in Safety or a certified Functional Safety Engineer/Professional is advantageous.
